We offer many ways to register for our continuing education courses.


Online

Please download your application fill it out and return your registration form to us. Please note that we only accept Visa and MasterCard. For Ed2Go Online Courses, visit the Ed2Go Website to register


By Phone

Call Central Nine at (317) 882-2088, extension 222 during regular office hours to register by phone. Have your Visa or MasterCard information ready.


By Fax

Complete the course registration form, including your Visa/MasterCard information, sign and fax it to Central Nine at (317) 887-6706.


By Mail

Fill out the course registration form and mail it along with a check, money order, or completed Visa/MasterCard information with a signature to:

If you prefer to register in person, our office hours are Monday through Thursday, 1:00pm to 9:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

We accept company purchase orders. Mail or fax your employee registrations along with Purchase Order. We will mail a confirmation to you and your employee and bill your company.


Gift Certificates

Adult Education gift certificates make the perfect gift! Central Nine Career Center offers gift certificates for any of the courses listed in our catalog. GED gift certificates are also available. Gift certificates are available for purchase in the Adult Education Office at Central Nine Career Center.


Teaching Opportunities

Central Nine Career Center Adult Continuing Education is happy to present this catalog which has a variety of career and vocational classes. Registration Policies and General Information


Participant Eligibility

All adult education students must be at least 16 years or older in order to attend adult or continuing education courses offered by Central Nine Career Center. Registration is open to any adult or student over the age of 16 years who is not currently enrolled in a regular high school program. All high school applicants are required to have written permission from their parents and their school principal or counselor prior to registering for Adult Education classes at Central Nine Career Center.


Registration Fees

Registration fees reserve a place in the class. Therefore, the registration fee must be paid at the time of registration in order for a participant to be enrolled in a class. Most fees include the cost of the books however; please see Course Snapshot for more details. Please note that personal projects are the student’s expense and must be approved by the instructor.


Registration Deadline

Please register at least 5 days prior to the start of class.


Registration Confirmation

An enrollment confirmation and payment receipt will be provided to you either in person or by mail.


Cancellation Policy

If the Central Nine Adult Education office determines that a class must be cancelled, all registered participants will be notified at least 24 hours prior to the start of class. Students will receive a full refund or credit towards another course (credit must be used within one year of issue). Please note: The Adult Education Office of Central Nine Career Center reserves the right to make changes as necessary and makes no guarantee that courses, sections, instructors, times or locations will be offered as listed, although every effort will be made to ensure that the schedule will be conducted as shown.


Refund Policy

If you must withdraw from a registered class (including online classes), you must contact the Adult Education Office at 317-882-2088 at least 24 hours prior to the start of the first class session. Please note that a $10.00 cancellation fee will be assessed and you may either receive a refund of the remaining amount or a credit of the remaining amount that can be used towards another class.

Withdrawals made after the first class meeting but at least 24 hours prior to the second class meeting will be assessed a $25.00 cancellation fee. You may either receive a refund of the remaining balance or be issued a credit of the remaining amount that can be used for another class. Please note, all textbooks and/or materials must be returned in a new/like new condition or you may be assessed the cost of the textbook and/or materials.

No refunds will be issued after the second class meeting and/or session. PLEASE NOTE: Refund checks are issued after approval by the Central Nine Career Center Governing Board Meeting. Please allow four to six weeks for processing.


One or Two-Day Workshop Refund Policy

Registrants of One or Two-Day Workshops/Classes must notify the Adult Education Office at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class in order to receive a full credit towards another course or a refund less the $10.00 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be issued once the workshop/class has started.


Certificate of Completion

A certificate of completion from Central Nine Career Center is awarded to each student who satisfactorily completes required course work, attends 80% of scheduled course sessions, and has met the standards as established by the instructor of the course.


Notice to Students

The Adult Education Office of Central Nine Career Center reserves the right to cancel or combine classes with insufficient enrollment. Central Nine reserves the right to make changes as necessary and makes no guarantee that courses, sections, instructors, times or location will be offered as listed, although every effort is made to ensure that the schedule will be conducted as shown. Please note that due to delivery of textbooks that may be beyond our control books may not be available until after your class has become available.


Directory Information

In accordance with the Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, the following information collected by Central Nine is public and available to anyone who requests it:

1. Name
2. Address
3. Course(s) taken
4. Period of attendance

Students have the right to inform Central Nine Career Center that any or all of the above information should not be released without their prior consent. Students who wish to do this are to report to the Adult Education Office to fill out the necessary form revoking any or all of the public information listed. Revocation will remain in effect until the student modifies it. Students under 18 must have their parents complete the form revoking public information.


Smoking Policy

All Central Nine Career Center property is designated as non-smoking. No tobacco products of any kind can be used on school property at any time.


Inclement Weather

Adult and Continuing Education classes offered at Central Nine Career Center will be cancelled if Central Nine Career Center has been closed due to inclement weather. If weather conditions deteriorate throughout the day, please tune in to local television stations or listen to local radio stations for information regarding adult and continuing education classes. Please note that one or two-hour school delays do not affect the evening Adult Education classes.


Non-Discrimination Policy

Central Nine Career Center does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age or individuals with disabilities, including limited English proficiency, in its programs or employment policies as required by the Indiana Civil Rights Act (I.C.22-9.1), Title VI and VII (Civil Rights Act of 1964), the Equal Pay act of 1973, Title IX (Educational Amendments), and Section 504 (Rehabilitation Act of 1973). Employee Course Enrollment

Any employee of Central Nine Career Center or the eight school corporations in the Central Nine cooperative may fill any unsold seat in an adult education class at 50% discount on tuition. This courtesy includes Governing Board members of Central Nine and of the eight corporations in the cooperative. The following conditions must be met:

a. The class has enough enrollments to carry the class without the professional courtesy seats.
b. If a late full price registrant wishes to enter the class but the class is at its physical capacity, the last in faculty/staff member would be bumped unless he/she is willing to pay full price.
c. Books and supplies needed for the class must be paid at full price.


Proctor Services

Central Nine Career Center offers proctoring services for distance education courses from several universities and colleges around the country. We are available to proctor paper/pencil exams as well as on-line exams. Exams are administered by appointment only.

If you would like to use this service please contact our office at 317-882-2088 ext. 222. The fee for proctoring distance exams is $10.00 per exam. This fee is subject to change if special handling of the exam is required.
